The post-mortem inventory of the surgeon Anthon Viladargus includes a number of retables and paintings (including three unspecified portraits), a chess set in a box and a number of books that are described as 'dolents' and are no specified. In a room opening on to the Carrer del Mal Cuiyat is a large box containing books and papers and an almost unstrung lute: 'Item vn cofra de la forma maior ab pany sens clau pintat de vermel dins lo qual ha diversos libres y paparots de poqua valor y vn laut quasi desencordat'. It seems possible that some of these books and 'paparots' of little value could possibly have been lute books.
