This encant of Federicus de Portugal, Archbishop of Zaragoza, includes a number of interesting items.
On 18 November 1540 a drum ('atambor') was sold to mossen Luis Icart for a ducat (il 4s).
On 14 December 1540 two large vihuelas in their box ('dues violes grans ab sa Cayxa') were sold to mossen Joanot Oliuer for 3l 16s. Various images and books (including Amadis de Gaul and a copy of the Cancionero general) were auctioned.
On Monday 31 December three large and two small music books ('dos libres grans de cant y dos petits' were sold to mossen Stany for Santa Maria (del Mar?, del Pi?) for 4l.
On Tuesday 1 March 1541, three more music books ('tres libres de cant ço es los dos grans y la hu de pregami y laltro petit ab cubertes de pells negres' were sold to the Bishop of Vich for 9l. These books of 'cant' maybe chant books, or may be polyphony, but either way they were relatively expensive.
