The cathedral canon Hieronym Comes drew up his will  on 9 July 1584 (no date for reading of will). He was the son of the merchant mossen Joan Comes and Elisabet, both deceased. His executors were: the cathedral canon Rev. Bernat Vergonyos; Pere Joan Vives, beneficed priest in the cathedral; the nobleman Jaume Alos; and the merchant mossen Antoni Gori.  He wished to be buried in the tomb of the cathedral canons, and for the funeral to be 'canonical'.  He left a bed to the Hospital General, as was the custom for cathedral canons, and 60ll in  alms for the cathedral. To his executor  Pere Joan Vives, he bequeathed 20ll and 'vns vestiments sacerdotals los quals ell volra ab vn missal que ara e comprat per bon amor y bons serueys me ha fets'. To his nephew, Gervasi Gori, he left 20ll, 'y tots los libres que jo tinc de stampa'. His universal heir was his brother, mossen Pau Jospeh Comes, a merchant residing in Seville.
