Jaume Beulo, canon of Vic Cathedral, drew up his will on 11 December 1584, in a room in the royal palace in Barcelona; it was read a week later on 18 December 1584. He was the son of the notary Honoffre Beullo of Vic and Joanna, both deceased. HIs executors were: his borthers, the Rev. Pere Beulo, canon of Vic aand the notary mossen Augusti Beulo in Vic; micer Joan de la Campana, dr in both laws; and the merchant mossen Pere Damia Pares. He wished to be buried in Vic Cathedral, in the tomb of the cathedral canons in the chapter, and the funeral was to be canonical. If he died outside Vich, he specified that his body should be taken there, which was probably the case. He left 5ll to each of the monasteries of Vic, and 20ll to he Verge Maria de la Pietat there, and three Masses were to be celebrated in the cathedral on the feast day of St Jaume. He left bequests to his niece, nephew and his servants, and his universal heirs were his two brothers. Given his position in and bequests made exclusively to Vic Cathedral, it seems likely that he was just visiting Barcelona when he fell ill and died there.
