Joan Comes was a Barcelona merchant who rented a small room to a canon [name not found] which he used as a study, where he kept a number of books on a table and boxes of papers, as well as a vihuela ('Item una viola del dit canonge'). This document is badly damaged by worm and water, and largely illegible.
