The post-mortem inventory of the doctor in law Lluis Bertran was begun on 19 November 1614 in the house he owned in the Carrer de Regomir. In the study, to the right of the entrance, he had a desk and a number of papers and books, including two copies of 'dos officis de la semana sancta', 'vna campaneta de coure', and paintings of Christ, the BVM and Mary Magdalene. More books and papers relating to the law were found in the room overlooking the Regomir, and in other rooms some tapestries, including one of hunting, and a lot of silver. He had a black horse in the stable and a torra in St Andreu de Palomar 'en lo loch dit Santa Eularia alias vilapana'. There he had paintings of the Seven Virtues, cardinals and theologians, and the king of France on horseback. In his study was a substantial collection of books (ff.72r-92r). These included:the 'aurea exposition imnorum'; 'summa angelica'; sermons of Martin Peraça de Çaragoça (1600); Nebrija vocabulari; the Barcelona 1593 edition of the Flos sanctorum; several volumes by Luis der Granada; Aristotle, Aquinas, 'vnes hores de nostra señora' and a missal. Othee titles include: Aesop's Fables (Lyons, 1568), a catechism (Venice, 1570) and others, the Council of Trent (Salamanca, 1545), works by Azpilcueta, Diego Stela's 'de la vanidad del Mundo (Barcelona, 1582) and a 'breuiarium supersexto et Clementinus Hieronymus laudi in Clementinus vell', and works by Lope de Vega among many others. He had works on the life of fray Luis Bertran, the sacred mystery of Daroca and a 'procesionarius beata Thecle', and an 'art de pensar la passio de christo', as well as Aulius Gellius and Ersamus. The auction of his possessions was begun on Friday 17 October in which paintings were sold, including six paintings 'de la casa de Austria' which were sold to micer Fontanilles for 5ll 1s, and four paintings iof the months of the year to Phelip Costa for 2ll 10s.
