Sergi González González took his PhD in musicology from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. His main lines of research focus on the study of soundscape, acoustic communities, musicology and ethnomusicology. The prism of sound studies and digital humanities provide him with the necessary tools for the development of his research framed within the new frontiers of musicological research, paying special attention to historical urban ritual and the connections established with urban spaces. He currently holds a post-doctoral position working on the ERC-2021-ADG project, no. 101054069, ‘How Processions Moved: Sound and Space in the Performance of Urban Ritual, c.1400-c.1700’, SOUNDSPACE, at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (PI: Tess Knighton).
