The post-mortem inventory of the reverend Joan Baptista Soler, a clergyman, was drawn up on 28 February 1604. He lived in a house in the Carrer de la Portaferissa. In his study he had a collection of books kept in 'vn bufet de fusta de noguer ja vsat'. The books were all related to his profession with the exception of the Sentences of Cicero.  The liturgical books included: 'vn missal ab vn feristol ab cubertes de fust cubert de cuyro'; 'vn breviari Roma ab cubertes de cartro cubert de cuyro'; and, interestingly, 'vn ordinarium barcinonensis Guillermi Cassadori episcopi'. He also had Azpilcueta's 'manual de casos de confessores', a catechism, three Bibles (one illuminated), the four gospels, Cayetani, Chrisostomus and other theological and devotional works.
