The post-mortem inventory of the reverend Jaume de Agullana, doctor in both laws, Archdeacon and canon of Gerona Cathedral and a member of the royal chancery, began to be drawn up on Wedensday 19 April 1617. This substantial inventory includes a large collection of books (including Azpilcueta and 'vn tratado de silencio'), and of paintings, largely devotional in profile. The auction of his possessions was begun on Wednesday 31 May 1617, at which many paintings and books were sold. The paintings were not all devotional ('las set arts liberals al temple', 'quatre parts del mon y los quatre elements', 'la armada de don Juan de Austria' and several portraits of people as well as of saints. On Friday 15 December 1617, 'vna caxa ... per portar los ornaments de dir missa a la Iglesia cuberta de vaqueta ab pany y clau y vna vago de ferro a cada cap de dita caxeta ab pany y clau' was sold to Bishop Lucrada for 2ll 10s. On Friday 16 February 1618, 'vna squella' was sold to Dr Francesc Vendrell for 3s, three days later 'vna campaneta' to Miquel Ferrer for 5s, and in the weeks that followed several liturgical books: 'vn breviario vell' to the notary for 1ll 4s; 'vn missal gran vsat' to Antoni Mass for 1ll 4s; 'vn diornal vsat' to Marti Ferrer for 7s 6d. In January 1619 the auction picked up again and another 'missal roma vsat' was sold to mossen Marti for 1ll 16s as well as the 'faristol de noguer per tenir dit missal' for 8s. On 15 January 1619 'la libreria del dit deffunct' was sold to the Bishop of Gerona, Pedro de Moncadallet, for 330ll. He had two books dedicated to Christ's passion: 'vn llibre de la passio de Jesus en lletra y figura' (sold for 8s) and 'tres llibrets que tractan de la meditatio de la passio de christo' (9s 1d).
